Economou & Co LLC Delivers Lectures on Ethics in Medical Research at the University of Cyprus Medical School

Economou & Co LLC delivered a series of lectures on Ethics in Medical Research to postgraduate students of the Medical School of the University of Cyprus, as part of the compulsory Master’s course.

The lectures focused on the practical application of ethical principles in clinical and academic research. Particular emphasis was placed on the core principles of biomedical ethics and how conflicts between them arise in real clinical settings; the evolution of modern research ethics; and legal obligations relating to the collection, processing and retention of research data, with focused analysis of GDPR requirements in medical research.

Using real case examples and jurisprudence, the sessions explored how ethical theory translates into day-to-day decision-making by clinicians and researchers.
