  • 25 Nov 2025

Our firm participated in the inaugural Cyprus Forum on Competition Policy 2025 (CFCP 2025), held in Nicosia on 21 November.

The event brought together leading voices from law, economics, and public policy for a much-needed and long-overdue dialogue on competition law and market regulation.

The forum featured a distinguished panel of speakers, including the Minister of Energy, Commerce and Industry; the Chairperson of the Commission for the Protection of Competition; Cyprus’s Advocate General at the Court of Justice of the EU; Cyprus’s Judge at the General Court of the EU; members of the judiciary; the Commissioner for State Aid Control; and other senior government officials.

Key focus areas included competition law in sport, state aid, the criminalisation of antitrust, and the challenges of digital transformation and artificial intelligence; each addressed through insightful presentations and engaging discussions.

The event marked an important step in providing a much-needed platform for regulators, practitioners, academics, and business stakeholders in Cyprus to convene and explore ways to enhance competition in the domestic market.

At Economou & Co LLC, we remain at the forefront of legal developments in competition law and market regulation, and we stand ready to assist clients with competition-law matters.

We look forward to continuing the conversation and supporting our clients as the competitive landscape in Cyprus continues to evolve.
